It's raining bikes in India especially the foreign brands showing interest in the Indian market. The Cubic Capacity of bikes is always on the rise and this year will be no different, in fact this year will prove to be a landmark in the Indian Motorcycle industry. With Honda launching its CBR250R, the KTM's arriving , we are in for a treat. Finally we get to experience some world class bikes and it's good to see people have started to recognize that we have a good market for higher cc motorcycles.
The most expected one will be the introduction of 600cc bikes in the Indian market for the first time. We feel that a 600cc bike is much more practical and usable in our roads than the litre class bikes. Ninja 650R,Yamaha R6 and CBR600RR will be a good bet this year.
- Harley Davidson motorcycles are expected to become a little cheaper due to local assembly of parts.
- We hope that the CBR250R would spark a new competition in the 250cc segment in India which will ensure the Indian companies also compete with them.
- KTM is expected to bring the 200cc bike with a price tag of around 1.8lacs. The bike is expected to produce a minimum power of 20ps with a kerb weight of around 130kgs! It will kill the competition in its segment with ease and go on to rival the 250cc's.
- Mahindra Mojo is all set to be launched in the coming year. The bike will compete with the likes of CBR250R and the existing Ninja 250.
- Yes, How can we leave the R125?? Yamaha is set to launch its R125 model and the FZ1 in India. The R125 again will change kill the existing 125cc segment with its superior technology and materials used. Just like the R15:)
- Hyosung will enter the Indian market again but this time partnering with Garware motors and launch the GT650r.
- Our very own TVS will launch its Apache RTR180 with ABS with a price around Rs 80000/-. Expect a pulsar 250 soon along with the CBr250R.
- Ducati will bring the Diavel model though it remains to be seen as how many takers will be there for it in the Indian market.
- Aprilia will bring the RSV4 model in India in mid 2011.
This year is gonna be a blast with so many bikes coming and the 250 and 650 cc segment will be the most looked and fiercely competed segment. With higher power bikes pouring into our country it's time we become more mature and drive sensibly coz with more power comes more responsibility;). So ride safe and have a blast this new year.
