
No more" Hamara Bajaj" from April of this year because the think tank of Bajaj Auto are thinking along the lines of building a brand image for the Pulsar and Discover brands. The Pulsar will be promoted as a performance machine at a reasonable price the Discover will be promoted as a fuel efficient as well as a powerful commuter.
Rajiv Bajaj stated his intention to remove the "Bajaj" from all of it's bikes and sell the Pulsar and Discover as separate brands themselves. This is s similar strategy adopted my many European auto makers like the Volkswagen group which has has many brands such as the Skoda, Audi, Bugatti etc. The move helps people to connect with the brands better than having all the bikes under a single name. This is a first time for an Indian Automaker to adopt this strategy and it remains to be seen whether this move will increase the sales and fortune of Bajaj in the coming years.
