KTM is one happy motorcycle company. The KTM Duke 200 is a hit with the Indian mass; thanks to its refreshing looks and its price tag (something every motorcycle manufacturer has to keep in mind in India). KTM's Stefan Pierer reflected similar thoughts but is definitely eyeing the Indian mass motorcycle market. He made it clear that a smaller KTM is definitely on the cards.

Bajaj To Launch New 100cc Motorcycle
Continuing its tradition of providing superior technology without compromising on the cost, Bajaj are looking to roll out a new 100cc model during the Diwali season. The expected price of the new motorcycle is around Rs 40,000 and positioning it slightly below its competitors from the Hero stable, the Splendor and Passion. Like the newly launched Pulsar 200, the entry level motorcycle is claimed to be technically superior to its counterparts.

Union Government Approves 14000 Crores Fund For R&D Of Hybrid And Electrical Vehicle
The government of India on 29 August 2012 approved a 14000 crore rupees fund to spur the production of hybrid and electrical vehicles in the country. According to a new policy approved, Automobile companies and the government plan to put six million electric vehicles on road by 2020. The government under the new policy will fund research and development, infrastructure and subsidies.
Hero MotoCorp To Phase Out Three Models
Hero MotoCorp have announced that they would be phasing out three models from their current product line up- Impulse, Maestro and the Ignitor. The reason for this has been attributed to need and the desire to build its own R&D which has been initiated with an European design and technology provider. The current crop of motorcycles from the Hero MotoCorp stable run on the platform and assistance from its erstwhile partner Honda Motor Co.
